This is a story told in an unusual manner through a spirited Vulture named David, who seeks to change the world for the better. Heart strings are tugged as we travel with David through his carefree journey of love, life, and parenthood into his new awakened life of activism that occurs due to the tragic loss of his offspring.Amos reveals little known factual information regarding the threatened extinction of many species of vultures. His eye-opening revelation regarding drugging of work animals in order to make them work longer and the domino effect it has on other animals is heart-breaking.
He presents a side of the story that many of us are oblivious to, that will provide knowledge and a new respect for fellow creatures. We are reminded that at times humans and animals alike may lose loved ones because of others recklessness or disregard for life.
The Author takes us through a journey to enlighten us to the damage that has been done and continues to be done through abuse of power as we are forced to rely on products that pollute and damage our environment 24/7. While many continue to close their eyes to these facts, the negative results continue building up.
While I am blessed to live in a city where everyone loves and appreciates animals and the role they play in society, I am not unaware of the tragedies occurring around us. The most important message I found is hidden deep within the story and one must read at least 18% into the book to began to see where it takes you.
I have been awakened to the harsh reality of the effect my actions can have on those around me if I do not make a conscious and continuous effort to live every moment for God. I am encouraged to strive harder at making sure that my actions bring to others the love, hope, and mercy that our God has shown to me so that they too may know God's unconditional love for them, despite any short comings present.
Amos is very passionate about the subject of animal and environmental activism. His passion is present through out the entire book.

I am an environmentalist and truly believe mankind is destroying Mother Earth. I would like to give this book more than three stars, but it dragged for me. Totally agree with the sentiment behind it though.
Court on Mount High is an intelligent novel that will linger in the thoughts and minds of the reader for weeks later. The story is told through the point of view of a vulture named David, and the subject matter is one that everyone should be aware of. The rapidly changing environment, and the ways in which we affect and abuse it. This page-turner is sure to leave the readers with a changed view about how to begin protecting the earth we occupy.
The premise sounds silly, animals taking humans before a court for judgment, but turns out truly profound profound. In a sense, it can be read as a metaphor making a case for the underdog, those who are powerless and don't have a voice. The case is well made. In the end, it is hard not to root for the animals and feel some shame for belonging to the human race. While the book is informative with lots of facts, it is written as an interesting, compelling story. I didn't think I would like it, but I really did. A lot. Everyone should read this.
Court On Mount High, is a good learning tool if you are interested in what has been done, what hasn't been done and what can be done to make the world a better place for animals and humans alike. I mention animals first because the story primarly centers around what we as human beings are doing to the animals and the environment as a whole.
Although written from a Christian perspective, I really enjoyed reading this story. The writing was good, the story was clear, and you actually learn a lesson from it, which isn't always the case in books anymore. The story had every element a good story should have. An interesting plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well illustrated scenes that really make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that's something I really look for in a good book.
This is a Christian fiction love story of sorts with a powerful message that will reawaken (for those who have fallen asleep) the environmental impact we humans are having on the planet. It's an unusual love story, in that, it's not your typical boy meets girl. Rather it's a tale of two vultures! Yes, you heard me right! The main characters, David and Melissa fall in love and bring new life into the world with David jnr. Early into the story tragedy strikes that propels David snr into an extraordinary mission. Enough said here to avoid any spoilers.
The book focuses heavily on Biblical Scripture to get its point across. So this should be appealing for those of the religious persuasion. Regardless of my own background, I found the story to be written eloquently and with conviction
"Only the human race has difficulty grasping the concept that the Creator created a natural order, called nature. Nature is the force that controls the universe. When the humans violate and infringe upon the laws of nature, they breach their covenant with the Creator. The Creator gave to humans so bountifully, so their breach is shocking and disillusioning, and this breach has caused great confusion, intolerable distress, unnecessary sickness, insufferable pain, and unconscionable death to the other species of this planet."
Finally, you don't have to be religious to read and enjoy this story. Overall, it conveys a very powerful environmental message. It’s one of those stories that come along once in awhile that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader! A highly recommended read.
